Beacons Consultants have designed and run management training and management development programmes (MDPs for short) over a 20 year period, in organisations from coal mining to bread making and right across the public sector.

... if you are designing an in-company MDP, to get the best outcome you will first want to measure the current performance of your managers, and properly identify their learning needs, before designing any training.

1. Customised short courses

Beacons provide customised, in-company, short management training courses in :

"Customised" for us means starting from our considerable experience and understanding of best practice in training, and then working with you as the client organisation to design a management development programme that meets your needs exactly.

You will have a minimum of 4 course members, but preferably 7-8, which is a better number both in terms of group dynamics and shared learning and also value for money! Larger numbers can be catered for, through Beacons providing extra tutors (usually 1 per 7-8) or extra dates.

Our management courses are usually delivered off-site, locally and at a centre specified by you if required, or at one of our recommended locations.

The 1-day courses are all non-residential, and the 2-3 day variants can either be residential or non-residential.

2. Leadership-Plus

If you are interested in jointly designing and developing a longer, more comprehensive and work-based management development programme, we have had great success with the Beacons Leadership Plus programme, which is based on your precise requirements in terms of numbers, competencies or skills, duration and of course budget.

3. Leadership in Action

There is one notable exception to our "mainly customised" approach. We offer leadership training with a more practical, outdoor flavour through our popular
Leadership in Action Course which we first ran in 1981 - and the particular part of the country where we ran it gave us our company name!

4. 360 Degree Feedback

We are market leaders in 360 degree feedback which we offer as either a "stand-alone" service or incorporated into a management programme.

5. Senior Managers

For more senior managers, we provide appropriate and focused versions of any of the above, plus one-to-one coaching.

6. Ready to Deliver Courses

We are closely associated with Bryan Edwards of ABC Training Solutions, who provides fully designed, ready-to-deliver management courses.
