The partners
Peter Maliphant, formerly Director of Franchise Operations at Interlink Express, joined Beacons in 1999 and is now Managing Director. Peter used our services as a client for many years, and saw the effectiveness of our programmes firsthand. He heads up our Leadership In Action courses as well as delivering our full range of programmes. He is also your contact for business enquiries and development in the West of England, Wales and the Midlands. Peter is based in Bristol. 
Sarah Maliphant joined Beacons in 2004 after 16 years working in IT, marketing and culture change management roles within BOC. She brings international experience as an internal consultant, manager and coach as well as expertise in creating structures and environments that enable change. Sarah specialises in 360 feedback,individual coaching and leads our personal development walking and coaching programmes in the Brecon Beacons. Sarah is a certified Coach, NLP Master Practitioner and Mountain Leader.
Richard Clayton founded Beacons in 1987, having enjoyed a career which included teaching history in London and ten years in the Armed Services before he moved into management training with ICL. He later moved to Brooke Bond as Group Training Manager of their Mallinson Denny subsidiary. Having stepped down as Managing Director in December 2005, Richard's role now includes the design and implementation of 360 feedback and working in leadership and team building at a senior level with many of our clients.

Sue Miles is a highly motivated individual who loves to make a real difference to organisations and individuals alike. Her background is largely in professional services and, after an initial career as a Chartered Surveyor, she quickly moved into broader roles, focused on operational management and business performance. Her work at a major international construction consultancy led to a Partner position, where ultimately she led the Learning and Development team. Working as a consultant Sue has designed, delivered and managed people development projects with public and private sector clients alike.
Claire Alston is another previous customer of Beacons who was inspired by the effectiveness of our approach. Claire has 15 years operational management experience in the financial services and call centre industry and joined us in 2003. She works with us on a range of programmes including team building, graduate development and consultancy.
Richard Sivers is an experienced professional in the management, design and implementation of human development solutions to effect business improvement and individual development. Formerly with Barclays Bank and FI Group plc, Richard joined our team in 1999 and works on a wide range of our programmes, particularly our Assessment & Development Centres.
